How did you find planning your wedding?
I loved every aspect of planning the wedding from start to finish, I am a very organised person so found it no bother at all.
Was your groom/bridesmaid hands on?
Yes my sister Margaret was excellent from start to finish from the dress shopping to organising the hen, she did a super job.
Were there any hiccups on the day of the wedding?
Everything went so smooth on the day I could not of asked for more, the weather was just magnificent and the sun shined from early morning.
Favourite moment of the day?
I think my favourite moment of the day was going to the ceremony. When we started planning the wedding we agreed we wanted all family and friend there and we would have it local as you know sometimes if the venue is a bit of a distance not everyone might not make it so we chose a local hotel and of course my family home is straight across the road from it so I didn’t need a car I walked across and it was just lovely.
I loved my dress. It was a Mori Lee 5170 Poetic Lace Gown in Champagne Ivory. It was made of beautiful Poetic Lace V neckline with cross over bust, lightly pleated, the bodice was beautifully fitted giving and excellent shape. It had a full A line skirt which draped beautifully to the ground showing off the elegant shape of the dress with a fabulous chapel length train, the back dipped into a v shape with a zip which was covered over with buttons and it finished off with a beautiful Organza tie sash with Swarovski crystal detail. From the moment I put on this dress I new it was for me and the colour champagne ivory really complimented my skin tone, it definitively was thee Dress for me!! I am still in love with it and would love to just wear it again. My headpiece was a vintage birdcage veil with netting that just skimmed the eyebrow and it also complimented the dress with matching organza style flower with Swarovski Crystals. The bridesmaid dress was a beautiful Coral 50’s style swing hourglass dress with a petticoat from the with cross over bust and tie to the side, the dress was very flattering on and the best thing about it is it can be worn again which is great, it is a style that I would go for.
What do you wish you had known when planning your wedding?
I think I was fairly ok with knowledge of things that I needed to know about the planning and I have to say the hotel were excellent with the organising leaving me stress free.
Do you wish you had done anything differently? E.g. booked something earlier, different supplier, invited more/less, etc?
No I was happy with everything if I did it again I wouldn’t change a thing.
Thank you for sharing your day with me Bernie & Shay!
Love from my world,
Lisa x
