How did you find planning your wedding?
Loved every second of wedding planning as I love all the little details! Wedding planning and all the pretty details was lovely to be involved in for the year!
Was your groom/bridesmaids hands on?
My lovely groom was amazing and helpful as always. He was kept at arms length though for most of planning as grooms are happy to be. He added his own touch to the day through some of his own ideas as he is creative also and that made it even nicer. We both made all the invites and stationery together and he arranged a beautiful vintage mini that his uncle restored which was the highlight of the transport! I was so spoiled on the morning of the wedding through all the little gifts and sentimental bits he organised for me! He couldn’t have been better!
Favourite moment of the day?
Sitting at the top table before the meal looking down at all our favourite people and family members in one room. Just taking it all in and feeling blessed to have all those people in our lives all there for us. Everything was pretty crazy before that point so that was lovely to have the time to do! We also planned for our wedding singer Aoife Anderson to sing an extra song after communion to give us time to just sit and reflect together and enjoy the atmosphere and her beautiful voice so that made the chapel more relaxed for us.
Were there any hiccups on the day of the wedding?
We were late to the chapel due to some hiccups during the morning prep and then there was a car accident at the entrance to the hotel so the guests were waiting a while for us unfortunately but I kept my calm and it all went smoothly after that. It was all so lovely that the time wasn’t too big of an issue. The rain was also pouring down so our photos were restricted but we had some pretty umbrellas prepared to ensure we could make the most of the rain! We had wanted fireworks but the weather didn’t permit so we had a sparkler first dance instead so that was more beautiful in the end!
Anything unusual that you want to promote the supplier?
Magician Andy James. Ceremony and reception music Aoife Anderson Wedding Singing.
What do you wish you had known when planning your wedding?
Everything goes too fast. It’s so true. So many friends said this but you never actually realise just how fast until the day is yours. We wish a little that we had enjoyed the day more and taken in each second and not been so consumed with the time schedule. We would have liked to spend more time with our guests at the drinks reception. We were too busy with photos and missed our magician and the lovely warm atmosphere in the dungeon bar at Kilronan.
Do you wish you had done anything differently? E.g. booked something earlier, different supplier, invited more/less, etc?
We wouldn’t have done things any differently. The day was like a fairytale. All our planning paid off. The hotel staff were so amazing and treated us like VIPs all weekend. The florists at Feehilys made our day so beautiful, like a winter wonderland with all the golds and magical trees. We are so happy with how it all turned out. We now just can’t wait to see our video! Eoghan Carroll Weddingmovies.ie was an absolute gentleman on the day and we were so happy with his attention to detail! His company made our day more special! All of our suppliers were amazing and could not have chosen better!
Thanks to Michelle and Liam for letting me share their gorgeous day.
Love from my world,
