What a start to the week! I surpassed 1,000 likes on my Facebook page last night and I am just amazed! I started this blog as I was obsessed with weddings for years and kept been asked do you have a blog, basically to store ideas and share them with others! In 5 short months, the blog has gone from strength to strength and I eat, sleep and breathe it!
On Sunday, I was delighted to attend the wedding fair at Whites Hotel in Wexford. As I’ve recently moved to the county, I was so thrilled that Catriona and the team asked me to come along to see what the hotel has to offer and to meet local suppliers. So off I went with my fabulous business cards by Cool & co, previously mentioned here, who designed the Lisa’s Wedding World brand.
After 3.5 hours of chatting, sampling and and a handbag full of business cards, I came home excited for lots of collaborations and opportunities ahead! From the first supplier I met on the way in, John Daly photography and his lovely wife, I knew this was going to be a good day. Everyone I spoke to was so kind, helpful, excited to have me there to help them and offered so much advice on weddings in the area. It’s always great to put a face to a brand. I could have spent a week doing research online for the people I met in a few hours.
The fair itself was the calmest I have ever been to! Newlyweds-to-be eased around the venue taking it all in and there was no squeezing your way to get through people. The suppliers were in the main function room which can hold up to 450 guests for a wedding. Whites has hosted generations of weddings and packages start from €28p.p. As well as the suppliers, Whites had also set up dining tables and a catwalk for the fashion show.
A one hour show took place on the day opened by magician Andy James and followed by fashion for brides, grooms and the mothers! Some stunning bridal looks came from B Couture Bridal based in Arklow, Co Wicklow and Wedding Day Bridal based in Wexford while the groom’s attire was supplied by Fitzgeralds Menswear which is based in Wexford, Waterford and Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
LaCreme boutique in Gorey, recently listed by RSVP as one of the Top 5 Irish Boutiques, provided many stunning looks for mothers of the bride and groom as well as guests. With labels including John Charles and Ian Stuart as well as accessories in store, it’s definitely one to visit.

Make-up was done by Tranquility Spa, which is part of Whites and hair was styled by Diva Salon.
Sweet carts and tables have become so popular that Whites have invested in their own cart which makes a sweet bride’s life a lot easier and one less thing to organise.
As well as the main function room, Whites have 2 other rooms available for smaller weddings and civil ceremonies.
This one is styled by The Flower Pot who do flowers and wedding room decor including centrepieces.
The hotel also offers a civil ceremony room on the fifth floor with stunning views of Wexford.
Here are a few pics of some of the other suppliers I met on Sunday.
Wedding Creations do a selection of handmade invitations, favours, fabric bouquets and more.
Here’s an unusual cake by Jenny’s Cupcakes.
A bouquet by Flowers By Grace.
Fingerprint Mementos offer this great guest book alternative where you put your fingerprint and name on a wooden heart and insert into frame. They can also be shipped internationally and do hen party versions!
I sampled some of Hilary’s cake from Cakes Unlimited and it was so yum! I especially loved her Tatty Teddy cake!
That’s just a summary of some of the great wedding suppliers from the sunny South East that I met at Whites! I will share more from other suppliers in the coming weeks. If you are thinking of a ‘Whites Wedding’ be sure to call Sarah or Jenny on 053 91 22311 or visit their website here.
Even if you aren’t getting married, it’s a great hotel for a weekend away in my new adopted county!
Love from my world,
Lisa x
