Ten, even five years ago, social media wouldn’t have been even mentioned when it came to planning your wedding. But nowadays it’s nearly a must. From engagement and save the date announcements to hen parties and honeymoons, the whole wedding journey is now online, but only if you want it to be. There are ways now to incorporate it into your wedding or ‘control’ it so to say.
For most brides, their main issue with social media, especially Facebook, is someone posting a photo of them during the wedding day itself or a photo that they don’t like. There is no way to control everybody and what they will or will not post online especially when we live in a world when everyone has access to the internet on their phones. Everyone from my 13 year old niece to my 92 year old grandmother has a mobile phone.
If you are very particular about not wanting photos of your wedding on social media, then let your guests know:
Lots of wedding venues now take photos of the couple when they arrive at their wedding reception so check your venue’s Facebook page to see if they do it and let them know if you would rather not to.
