If you read my recent Opsh feature (here) on my wedding trends for 2015, you will have seen that DIY is here to stay! It’s such a great way to personalise parts of your special day without breaking the bank. And it’s also something that you and your other half can do together…DIY date nights!
An easy way to personalise your tables at your reception is with cardboard letters or numbers. Use your initials on your cake table or top table, you could even spell out the word Love. You can also decorate to match your theme and use as table numbers.
I had a little DIY night myself this week. I purchased our two initials, an ampersand, some bronze paint and a paintbrush and set to work on some home decor.
The whole lot cost under €15 from the one shop, The Book Centre in Wexford and I was all done in 20 minutes. It was so therapeutic and a great way of personalising your home or your big day.
Here is my result!
Here are some other options that I love. You can be so creative with these, use paints, paper, fabric, beads, the sky is the limit. If you have a carpenter in your bridal party perhaps they can make you wooden letters!
Let me know your favourite or if you are thinking of doing this. If you have already done these, be sure to send me a pic!
Love from my world,
Lisa x
